My husband and I were taking our dream vacation to Alaska. We started our trip in Pensacola, Fl. Went from Pensacola to Houston, Texas. WHEN WE GOT OUR BOARDING PASS WE DISCOVERED WE WERE NOT SITTING TOGETTER! Flight was full could not change seating.I could not believe that we had to sit with strangers for the second and longest leg of our journey Houston to Seattle. We arrived in Seattle and were given seats together into Fairbanks,Alaska. We had a wonderful 2 week vacation in and along the coast of beautiful Alaska. On 9-5-2015 we were to begin our journey back home.(Vancouver to Houston to Pensacola)We were on UA1751. Boarded and went to our seats and realized the plane was very hot. We were told someone was coming to check the problem with the air. During that time I got a bad headache from the heat. Then we were told we had no pilot or copilot , so we waited in a hot plane. the pilot never showed so we had to disembark with all our carry ons. Back inside I had to stand in line to try to change my Houston to Pensacola flight because we were going to miss it.We waited 2 and a half hours on our pilot and I am still in a line for new tickets in Houston. No new tickets, but boarding again. We arrived in Houston and I began again to stand in line for a new connection ticket to Pensacola. Untied did have 5 people working on everyones new flights, but they were not very friendly. I was told the next flight out was on 9-6-2015 boarding at 6:55 am. that flight would take me from Houston to Orlando to Pensacola. I WAS NOT VERY HAPPY ABOUT HAVING TO GO ALL THE WAY TO ORLANDO AND THEN TO PENSACOLA!!! We were given a room at the Holiday Inn and four 7 dollar vouchers for dinner and breakfast. 28 dollars for 2 people for 2 meals!!!! we arrived at the inn around 10:30 and spent all 28 dollars on 2 sandwiches and tea. The hallways had a bad oder, but the room was ok for a very tired and unhappy traveler. no bags so no clean clothes for morning. Up at 4:30 so we could catch bus back to airport at 5:30. 5 hours rest and we begin again. Flew to Orlando and had a 3 and a half hour layover. Boarded Silver air to Pensacola and another hot plane. had to disembark again because of mechanical problems. Went back inside and was boarded again and departed in about 45 minutes. We arrived in Pensacola to discover one of our bags were missing. They were to call me on 9-7-15 about my bag and I have not heard from them. I will deal with that by phone today 9-8-15. I DO BELEIVE UNITED OWES ME FOR THIS TRIP!!!!
